Scholarships

As a result of a growing number of foundations looking to provide scholarships and grants to the general population of ex-servicemen, the Gruss Fund has chosen to focus its scholarship program on particular target groups such as lone soldiers, residents of the periphery, haredi ex-sevicemen, minorities and new immigrants.

The Fund gives out some 3,500 grants each year. Seventy percent of these are for first time recipients, and the rest go to beneficiaries who have requested additional assistance.

The majority of the beneficiaries take part in volunteer programs in the fields of education and society, which serve as an additional framework that accompanies the beneficiary during the period of his/her studies. The volunteer activities of the beneficiaries within their communities in the periphery contribute to the development of an involved local leadership.
